What's New?
12-23-2006
Thanks to Jose and Aaron at Driftmotion ( www.Driftmotion.com), where the 1JZ/R154 swap was finished, the motor and tranny have been working flawlessly and there have been no issues with
the harness either. Haven't really updated this site much due to the fact that I enjoy driving this car everyday as my daily
driver haha.
Since I haven't had any tuning or any idea what kind of numbers the motor was putting out as well any gauges to keep
track of the engine's vitals, I took it to Bisimoto ( www.Bisimoto.com) to have the car baselined on their Dynapack dyno. Bisi, if you aren't familiar with the name, runs that insane all motor
9sec Honda Insight.... that little car's got serious balls....
Anyways, here were the dyno results:

Looks as though the JZX90 motor and the JZX81 turbos are running pretty much they way they ought to be. Boost is steady
without peaking, hp is linear and torque comes on strong and steady from 3000rpm. The "fly wheel power" has been corrected
by Bisi to show realistic WHP numbers. So it's about 300whp at the moment on high octane pump gas.
The only real drawback is that the motor is obviously running rich past 5000rpm, robbing power in the top end (motor will
rev to 7000+rpm stock) so there is still room for improvement with the stock components before I do any upgrading. It's not
bad at all considering I'm running the stock injectors, stock spark plugs which need to be replaced, as well as the stock
restrictive Y-pipe.
As of now, the only mods are aftermarket FMIC, 3" exhaust (with high flow cat), and intake. Stock boost and ECU. Plans
are to purchase an AFC, set of gauges, some new spark plugs, and then see where I stand with some basic tuning. Considering
Jose's 1JZ racked 150K+ miles of highway, street, and track abuse, I look forward to enjoying the 1JZ for some time :)

the cressida finally got the wheels it needed. the 3 piece 17's are too banged up to use for street so i got a set of
17x8 and 17x10 FN01R-C's to clear the Z32 brake swap in front. anyways, took it to a carwash last night for some up to date

As usual with my car, things tend to break.. and when they break, many things like to break at once...
about a week ago a leak (a crack) developed in the downpipe, probably from a crack in a weld from all of the engine movement...
following that, seems like my 2nd turbo (the rear one) decided to eat shit at WOT in 2nd gear. last time it was the front
turbo... now debating what to do.. shit
On a lighter note, I picked up a used C's short shift kit from Jose at Driftmotion. Installed it a week or so ago and
so far it's been working great. Considering it's used, the throws are still very precise and goes into gear without any slop

Okay, it's been 2 months and 2500 miles since the swap has been completed. Quick list of what's up with the car at this
moment:
Good:
-mileage has improved since the first couple hundred miles since the swap
-runs strong and no major issues and no leaks (what a change from the 7M haha)
Bad:
-noise is mose likely powersteering pump or something is clogging
-still get clunking noise in suspension (unrelated to the engine swap)
-car needs alignment bad
-still getting vibration at speeds above 60mph
-car idles low sometimes when driving cold (not an issue if i let it warm up completely)
Anyways, with the annual TORC ToyotaFest coming around next weekend on the 13th, I need to get the car ready since it's
been accepted into the list of cars to be shown. Need to set aside some time for a full detail on the car and sometime during
the week Driftmotion ( www.driftmotion.com) should have my Z32 brake swap parts ready to install. Sneak peak:

Well technically the car was up and ready to run yesterday night (or late night i should say), but today I took it up
to D1 and so far everything is running without issues. Getting a check engine light whenever I hit freeway speeds so I need
to check the code on that. There's a few details here and there that need some attention (like the whining noise that goes
away after warming up, no shifter boot/knob, and wipers that don't come all the way down) but the bigger issues are all sorted
out
As the car neared it's finish date, more things kept going wrong like the front turbo that shit itself... pretty much
most of the work on the car had to be done or checked twice or three times, and that's NOT an exaggeration. But the fellas
at Driftmotion ( www.Driftmotion.com) really pulled through with all the extra time and effort put into this car and I easily recommend them for 1J or any other
harness work as well as mechanical work that needs to be done.
Anyways, the car drives great as expected and there is no match like a 1J in a cressida, this thing pulls like
a beast with the stock motor and turbos! And of course I got twice the blank stares compared to before and that unmistakable
1J howl to back up that "ricey" titanium HKS muffler out back tucked nicely out of harms way. Once that supra diff goes in,
it'll really be just a supra in a 4 door body :)
Once I get some tires and brakes (trust me I'm broke right now with school and bills and rent to pay) I need to hit up
the track and do some laps. And of course you'll notice there aren't any new pics, well as usual as one thing gets fixed,
something else eats shit so my camera decided it will join the cause as well. So for the time being, no pics haha.

Short update:

1-10-2006
first of all, Happy New Year folks :) so far it's been going good for me. www.BellHelmets.com (where i work) pays quite decent $/hr compared to past jobs i've had and everything else is settling down... though i feel
busy everyweek without such small luxuries like sleeping in... anyways, the car is coming along.

no pics this time around for updates, but there's a few more bits that need attention before it's done. hope to get some
pics up soon :]
